Climbing Game

Advanced Virtual Reality 4001

For my Advanced VR coursework, I decided to create a demonstration for a climbing game. This was an homage to my roommates who were frequent indoor climbers.

This game was created using custom assets designed in Blender, custom scripts and shaders using C#, and Unity URP Pipeline.

Methodlogy

When creating this project, I wanted to simulate accurate climbing techniques to enhance the realism of climbing in Virtual Reality. From a mix of consulting with my roommates and their friends, as well as attempting to perform these moves at a climbing gym, I learnt the difficulties, and progression of techniques from v3-v8. By studying and consulting, I could replicate these motions in my experience, by placing climbable objects in certain positions that forced users to simulate the exact pose.
